Hong Kong Showbiz: I’m Hailed as the Godfather of Variety Shows

Ye Nian transmigrated to Hong Kong in the early 1980s, an era when film and music had both reached their peak.

With his skills as a producer and help from the System, he created the smash-hit variety show Run, Stars!

As shows like Challenge the Limits, Pumpkin House, and Goddess Ride the Wind and Waves one after another took the world by storm, he came to be known as the godfather of popular variety shows.

Top stars like Gor Gor, Fat Jai, Brigitte Lin, and Maggie Cheung eagerly cleared their schedules just to appear on one of Ye Nian's episodes.
