Great Tang: Knocking Li Er Unconscious Before the Xuanwu Gate Incident

In the ninth year of Wude, on the eve of the Xuanwu Gate Incident.

The retainers of the Prince of Qin's household sharpened their blades and stood ready, waiting for Li Shimin's command to rush the Xuanwu Gate.

But they waited until the sun set the next day.

Li Jiancheng and his brother Li Yuanji passed through Xuanwu Gate back and forth more than a dozen times.

Li Shimin still hadn't shown up.

Cheng Yaojin: "Damn it, is the Prince of Qin going to rebel or not? If he isn't, I'm going home to get some sleep!"

Yuchi Gong: "He said we'd rebel today, but he hasn't even shown his face! He talks like a **. How's he ever going to be emperor?"

Changsun Wuji: "This is bad! His Highness the Prince of Qin has been imprisoned by Li Chengqian!"
