Great Tang: I Am Emperor Taizong, and I’ll Never Reveal My Hand!

Zhang Ye's soul transmigrates to the Tang Dynasty. In an era before the imperial examinations existed, all qualifications for official posts were controlled by aristocratic clans and imperial relatives.

Zhang Ye figures he might as well live off his family's ancestral lamb shop and wait for death.

Until one day, Emperor Li Shimin of the Great Tang arrives: "Zhang Ye, you have to save this bowl of lamb soup for me! I'll make you a great general!"

Fang Xuanling: "Zhang Ye, make me that poached fish again, and I'll promise my granddaughter to you."

Wei Zheng: "Zhang Ye, give me that Dongpo pork. I'll recommend you for an official post!"

Du Ruhui: "Zhang Ye, I'm begging you, make me another serving of your secret-recipe skewers!"

Qin Shubao: "Zhang Ye, make me some secret-recipe roast duck, and I'll lend you my golden mace to impress the crowd!"

Zhang Ye looks helpless.

He can tell at a glance that these people are the emperor and the civil and military ministers of the Tang Empire.

But these guys refuse to admit who they are just so they can mooch free food!
