Great Tang: Selling an Astronomically Expensive Lunch from the Start

In the second year of the Zhenguan era, Su Yang transmigrates into a restaurant in Chang'an.

The System requires Su Yang to sell each lunch for one hundred strings of cash. To make sure he can sell them, he has no choice but to answer customers' questions during lunchtime.

He thought a lunch at such an astronomical price would scare everyone off, but unexpectedly, a whole bunch of people with more money than sense, no, a whole bunch of patriotic merchants full of fervor, became regulars.

Old Li: "How should we deal with the locust plague sweeping across the Guanzhong region?"

Old Du: "The water level in Chang'an's canals is falling, and we're facing a shortage. What should we do?"

Old Sun: "I hear the imperial treasury is empty. What can I do to make even a small contribution to the country?"

As a top student well versed in both the arts and sciences, Su Yang considers these problems trivial.

"Your Majesty, after all these expenses, only one hundred strings of cash remain in the treasury!"

"Don't panic. I'll spend those hundred strings on a meal and ask how to make five hundred thousand strings."
