Your Old Man Is the Heavenly Dao

I started writing early to go buy a meal,

Never thought I'd nearly lose my life,

Then one day, I became the Lord of Heaven,

Looking this way and that at all under heaven,

Knowing everything, with nothing beyond my sight,

With nothing to do, I descended to the mortal realm,

Found a baby and became his father,

Helped him ascend and seek eternal life,

My son grew old while still a child,

Crying and begging his dad,

Dad just gives him a sidelong glance,

And sends both young and old packing.
