A Hero's Journey Through the Ming Dynasty: I Am Shen Jianxin!

In the chaotic Ming Dynasty, the imperial court and the martial world stood apart, blades flashing and swords clashing.

At court, the ruler was no ruler and the ministers were no ministers. The emperor's power had waned until he was little more than a puppet.

The Eastern and Western Depots and the brocade-clad guards wielded sinister methods to stir up the winds of change;

the Imperial Guards and Six Gates Bureau held overwhelming might and commanded the court.

The martial world was awash in blood, and heroes used their martial arts to defy the law.

This was a dark age.

But even the darkest age has its own glimmers of light.

Though faint, if one is fortunate enough to glimpse that ray, then dawn cannot be far away.

At least, Shen Jianxin believed so.
