The Last Taoist Priest Descends the Mountain to Farm

"Chongyang, tell your master again: what is a Daoist?"

Wei Chongyang thought for a moment. "One who defends the Dao."

His master shook his head.

"One who seeks the Dao?"

His master asked again, "What is your Dao?"

"Truth."

"What is truth?"

"Whatever the mind perceives through the eyes, ears, mouth, nose, and skin is truth. These are the six senses, also known as 'true awareness' or the 'primordial spirit.'" His master smiled, then passed away while sitting in meditation.

And so Wei Chongyang, the only true Daoist in all of China, descended from the mountain. But the bustling mortal world awaiting him wasn't exactly welcoming.
