Great Tang: From the Start, I Had Li Shimin Caned

Qin Wuyou transmigrates to the Tang Dynasty, stirring up the political landscape. In the county court, he puts the emperor, Li Shimin, on trial.

Li Shimin declares, "I became emperor hoping that the people of the realm could live in peace and prosperity and enjoy an era of peace."

Qin Wuyou demands, his voice sharp, "Tell me, as emperor, do you know about the disasters on the border? Villages wiped out and towns massacred, with the Turks killing more people every day. They tied the heads of Tang subjects to their horses and dragged them for hundreds of miles, leaving nothing but white bones?"

"Do you know about the Yellow River floods? Corpses float for a thousand miles, starving people lie everywhere, and nine out of ten villages are destroyed. Disaster relief funds end up in the hands of corrupt officials, while the people grow gaunt and curse you, Li Shimin?"

"Do you know that the Five Surnames and Seven Houses monopolize the government? Scholars from humble families study for ten years, only to see their hopes crushed because they can't afford a carriage, then die in ruined temples, their ambitions ending in a pile of bones?"

"As emperor, do you think you can stay inside your palace without investigating the realm or seeing the people, never taking a single step outside, and still know everything happening under heaven? ..."
