The protagonist, Li Daoyi, is possessed by a higher-dimensional life-form, which demands that he risk his life to sustain the powerful being residing within him. He has no choice but to obediently explore. His adventures span 36 worlds, where he gathers enough resources and treasures to counterattack the higher-dimensional world. He cycles between two worlds, first entering an outer world, then exploring an inner world. After eighteen cycles, he accumulates astronomical amounts of knowledge and power, launches a counterattack on the higher-dimensional world, and helps his parasitic companion regain a physical form. Together, they share in the glory.
