A Documentary Account of the Reconstruction of the Three Officials Hall

The Three Officials Hall is an auxiliary structure in Taoist religion. But in the countryside, where folk religion takes root, it is an independent building and a unique cultural symbol. As an independent structure, the Three Officials Hall has shed its original Taoist theoretical character, taking on the special meaning villagers give it: their heartfelt prayers for a better life. This has made it a utopia of rural culture, and, like the Temple of Prince Ma and the Temple of the Village God, given it a Confucian character as well. This is reflected in its distinctive mural tradition. This book takes you back to the history of rebuilding temples and restoring golden statues, inviting you to savor the beautiful meaning unique to rural life.
