Great Tang: From the Start, I Fired Back at Li Shimin

In the second year of the Zhenguan era of the Tang dynasty, Li Mu transmigrates and inherits a tavern in Chang'an, waiting for his System to activate.

Li Shimin goes on an undercover visit, disguises himself as a merchant named Old Li, and visits Li Mu's tavern to drink and chat.

Li Mu doesn't recognize Old Li for who he really is. After a few rounds of drinks, they start discussing affairs of state.

At Li Mu's suggestion, Li Shimin decides to follow the example of King Wei of Qi.

Li Shimin decrees, "Anyone who points out my faults to my face will receive the highest reward. Those who submit memorials advising me will receive the second-highest reward. Those who discuss my faults at court or in the streets, and whose words reach my ears, will receive the lowest reward!"

As a result, ministers flock to remonstrate with him, one after another.

In the tavern, however, Li Mu says, "Li the Second, you dim-witted ruler, you're unfit to be emperor!"

The entire court is stunned.

When the System awakens, its very first task is to make Li Mu an official.

Old Li just chuckles and says, "Shopkeeper Li, go to court tomorrow..."
