I stopped watching the part about the Ancient One when I saw the mage. If Superman was supercharged and transformed into Doomsday, would he be unable to defeat the Ancient One??? In the movie, Ancient One isn't that great. Don't always make excuses based on comics. Comic Superman is even more interesting.
