The protagonist, Yuxuan, is a modern-day student who has just started his final year of high school. He slacks off and gets mediocre grades, but he is devoted to anime.
He has no friends in real life and only dreams of having a two-dimensional wife, so his classmates keep their distance.
Yuxuan's situation perfectly embodies the term "shut-in otaku."
And yet, even someone like Yuxuan manages to attract the affection of a beautiful girl in real life. He accepts her confession during the day, but before he can enjoy any romance, night falls.
After watching some anime he likes, Yuxuan falls asleep. A mechanical voice, like that of a System, sounds beside his ear. Before he can react, he opens his eyes, and before him lies a world filled with flying magic. Yuxuan stares at the sight, lost in thought...
"You've got to be kidding me! My youth has only just begun! I want to go home!"
And so, guided by the mysterious System's voice, Yuxuan sets out on a journey home.
