The Nonhuman Presence in Showbiz

There's a saying online: turning a good anime into live action ruins it eight times out of ten, while turning a good novel into live action ruins it 99 times out of 100.

That's because the characters in anime and novels aren't ordinary people.

Take the Overlord of Desolation from Shrouding the Heavens, for example. Her domineering presence and peerless beauty: who could possibly portray her?

"Who dares claim invincibility? Who dares say they cannot be defeated?"

When an ordinary person says something like that, it's like a monkey imitating a tiger, making a fool of themselves.

No actor could embody these powerful beings from novels. Actors are human, not gods. They don't have that aura or that heart that believes itself invincible beneath the heavens.

"Nonhuman Movie Star System activated!"

Then, one day, someone activated the System, and a performer capable of embodying these inhuman beings appeared.

Like Buddha seated upon Spirit Mountain, like the Dao Ancestor reclining across the Nine Heavens, or like the Jade Emperor seated in the Hall of Miraculous Mists.

He wasn't human. He was a god, a true god.

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance is purely coincidental. Do not imitate.
