You Shang and You Meishi are orphans rescued by Yue Xiu, a Golden Immortal of the Cold Moon Pavilion, during the holy war between the Immortal Realm and the Demon Realm. They grow up under Yue Xiu's attentive care. But the Demon Realm, once gravely wounded by the Immortal Clan, miraculously rises from the ashes. Before long, a calamity strikes the Seven Immortal Pavilions, and their three guardian Golden Immortals are killed one after another.

Along the way, You Shang rescues the young Flower Goddess and, through a twist of fate, gains half of her divine power. He also has the fortunate chance to study under the Golden Immortals Zi Yan and Mo Qi Wenyu, becoming their disciple for a second time. By chance, he meets Die Wu, who is disguised as a man, and they become sworn brothers under different names. But a misunderstanding nearly leads him to kill Die Wu...
