Whispers from a Humble Abode

It suddenly occurred to me that happiness isn't really so far away: by chance, you find a city that's neither too big nor too small, where life moves neither too fast nor too slow, and by chance, you decide to spend the rest of your life there; by chance, you find a job that's neither flashy nor shabby, neither too highbrow nor too commonplace, and by chance, it suits your temperament and your interests; by chance, you find someone sweet, neither beautiful nor ugly, neither rich nor poor, and by chance, you can share a smile and fall asleep in each other's arms. Three happy coincidences are enough for a lifetime.
