The Boundary Crosser

In the year 3383,

A piece of information appeared from who knows where:

"The universe will reset in 30 years."

This year was worth celebrating.

Humanity had successfully opened a passage to other worlds

and found a new world devoid of human life.

But this year

was also a sorrowful one.

Organized by the government,

people traveled to another world with hope and curiosity,

but without exception, they exploded and died as they passed through the portal.

By the time humanity realized what was happening,

it was already too late!

Three quarters of the world's population had perished.

As if in a cruel joke played by the heavens,

only the first test subject had made it through that gateway of death.

"Who knows if there'll be another?"

Someone said.

With only a quarter of the population left, humanity split into eight factions.
