Today, I Rise

Literature takes on different forms in the hands of different writers. My view of literature is sometimes grand and sweeping, sometimes as gentle and flowing as water. Literature should inspire wonder, yet also sorrow; it should be astonishing, yet remind us of our insignificance. There is no need to force a message into literature. Simply write what is on your mind. Hidden in the words is an epic, and rising from the page is an empire.

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental. Please do not imitate.
