The story takes place in a twin world much like Earth. The male protagonist is born into a martial world, but his Nine Yang Severed Meridians mean he is destined to die young. After more than a decade of arduous training, with no hope of breaking through the limits of his lifespan, he still refuses to bow to fate and chooses to end his own life. By chance, however, he is reborn in the other half of the twin world as an abandoned newborn baby girl.
