The Unconventional Blood Mage

In eastern Asia, the City of Calamity, formerly China's three northeastern provinces, is also known as District 21 of the Dragonbane Alliance. Its directly administered city of Dongshan has been rated the prefecture-level city with the best public security for ten years running. The locals are simple and hospitable.

Almost no one who comes here makes it back in one piece. Some leave with a few organs missing, others suffer a mental breakdown, and some simply lose their lives. This place is widely regarded as a paradise for the rich, a proving ground for criminals, and a stage for the deranged.

It was once home to slums and prisons. Then, several decades ago, tectonic activity caused the American continent to connect with this region. Since then, this place has become a lawless no-man's-land, the most chaotic place on Earth.
