Notes Played Beneath a Gloomy Starry Sky

I gaze out at the street I've walked countless times,

with the gentle chill of the wind and a touch of melancholy.

The past and present piece together,

but the once-colorful stars no longer shine.

Suddenly, I remember someone's silhouette

and reach out instinctively to hold them back.

Memories resurface.

Scattered fragments keep welling up in my mind,

like withered leaves drifting away on the wind.

Little by little, they cover everything about you.

I once kept chasing after your footsteps,

until I slowly came to realize

that we had long since drifted apart like parallel lines.

Beneath that dusky sky,

I played the notes that belonged to you and me.
