Waiting tells the story of Yue'er, a bath center attendant, who is waiting for her husband to come out of prison. Yue'er's husband hit someone with his car and was sentenced to ten years in prison. Yue'er has transformed from a weak woman into the backbone of the entire family. She has to take care of her frail mother-in-law, while also raising two children and providing them with education. No matter how twists and turns her fate was, Yue'er gritted her teeth and got through it. Ten years later, Yue'er's two children were admitted to college and her husband was released from prison.
