Back to Field: Master of the Elements

Xiaofan, the Heavenly Lord who governs the natural order of the Three Realms, descended to the mortal world to travel three hundred years ago. There, he met Xiaoying, who was washing silk by a stream.

At the instant she looked back and smiled, Xiaofan's eternally still heart gave a gentle beat.

The natural order of the Three Realms fell into chaos in an instant.

The Yangtze burst its banks, the heavens brought a terrible drought, and the land split open into endless chasms.

The Heavenly Court was enraged, and Xiaofan was charged with a crime.

In the celestial palace amid clouds where phoenixes danced, the Jade Emperor angrily flung back his sleeves. "Do you know your crime?!"

Xiaofan's face was as cold as ice. He replied calmly, "I do."

The Jade Emperor asked, "Do you regret it?"

Xiaofan said, "I do not."

The assembled immortals erupted in an uproar!

The Jade Emperor declared, "Fine. I will banish you to the mortal world, where you will suffer every hardship it has to offer. If you wish to return to the heavens, you must earn one billion points of favor from the living beings of the Three Realms!"

Xiaofan rose calmly. As he walked toward the Southern Heavenly Gate, he recited aloud:

"The moon and flowers, the snow and wind, are all fleeting. A beauty's smile is hard to forget. I do not regret my fall to earth, and ask only to be reborn by Ying's side."

The Jade Emperor...
