The City's Yin-Yang Paper Effigy Maker

Paper cutting is an ancient folk art in which patterns are cut or carved into paper using scissors or a knife.

The earliest paper cuttings date back to the Western Han dynasty, in the sixth century BCE. People of that time used thin materials and hollowed them out through carving to make works of art.

Among those who practice paper cutting, there is also a traditional craft that has vanished into the currents of history: yin-yang paper cutting.

The first cut commands life, the second commands fate, and the third determines the feng shui and divides yin from yang.

Sometimes, an ordinary-looking paper figure can take your life!
