This story continues after Inuyasha. A new Shikon Jewel causes Naraku and the others to come back to life. After investigating, they learn that the Shikon Jewel came from five people who transmigrated from modern times to the Warring States period. They also discover that the Jewel is in the hands of a boy named Akechi Mitsuharu.
After searching far and wide, Inuyasha's group finds Akechi Mitsuharu and the other four. But then, Inuyasha and the others accidentally unleash the unprecedented power of the Shikon Jewel, resurrecting every demon they had ever defeated. The demons join forces to attack the Warring States period and Inuyasha's group. With nowhere left to turn, the innocent people and demons of the Warring States period flee with Inuyasha's group to modern times under Akechi Mitsuharu's leadership.
But to their utter shock, Naraku has already brought every demon to the modern era using black smoke and destroyed the Shikon Jewel, scattering all its shards across the present day. Inuyasha and the others decide to search for the Shikon Jewel shards in the modern world while fending off Naraku's attacks. And so the story continues...
