Tiegun is the son of Lai Zhao, Ximen Qing's attendant, and Yizhangqing. Though young, he has seen the harshness of life. He dabbles in everything but is a master of nothing. He fears death, yet can face it without flinching. He doesn't like studying, but has his own opinions about everything. Sometimes he's selfish, sometimes he can see the greater good. At times he's so timid he despises himself, yet at others he'd lay down his life for his brothers. He loves to lie, brag, and show off, but will give everything for the people he loves. He's an ordinary man, but one with flesh, blood, and desire. He wants to be a hero, yet is afraid of becoming one.
