Chronicles of a Rock Ninja

We are rock,

the hardest of earth.

When the rain comes,

rock turns to soil.

When the rain stops,

soil turns to dust.

We are insignificant motes of dust,

soon to scatter on the wind,

to die beneath thunder,

to lose our way in a sea of mist,

to fall into the flames.

Perhaps we will all eventually die,

leaving no trace,

leaving no echo.

But who can deny

that a world changed by motes of dust

will be even slightly different?
