A Tale of Two Worlds
Beyond the mortal world lies another, parallel space. Its species were far more intelligent than the humans of the mortal world, but greed and slaughter led to their destruction. Laozi, the forefather of Daoism, journeyed west to this place and created a new world called the Qingyuan World. He sent his two young disciples to be reborn in the mortal world, where they would help the poor, save the needy, build good karma, eliminate demons, and bring blessings to humankind. Once their merits were complete, they would lead their wives, children, relatives, and friends to open up the Qingyuan World.
