Journey to the West: The Mandate of Heaven

A grudge among the gods, sparked by a peach...

A stone monkey dragged into it for no reason...

Rather than saying that Sun Wukong wreaked havoc in Heaven, it would be more accurate to say the Heavenly Court knew it was in the wrong and yielded to the Western Heaven!

Rather than saying that the Buddhist scriptures were brought back from the West, it would be more accurate to say that the Tathagata Buddha had long planned to bring the teachings to the Eastern Lands!

Was it all fate, or was it the will of Heaven?

See how, one kalpa after the pilgrimage for the scriptures, Sun Wukong finally refines the supernatural powers of the Six-Eared Macaque,

recognizes the truth, escapes the schemes of the sages, and restores a bright and just world beneath the Great Way of Heaven and Earth!
