Yong Wu, the Celestial Court's imperial-cuisine God of Food, neglects his duties during the Peach Banquet. The Tathagata eats a mouthful of Xiaotian Dog hair, and the jade nectar is replaced with water from the Milky Way. The Jade Emperor is furious and banishes Yong Wu to the mortal world. He must accumulate countless merits before he can return to the Celestial Court and take his place among the immortals.
Through the rise and fall of dynasties, he makes the mortal world his playground.
