When Chad from Bleach appears in Fairy Tail, he loses his powers and is captured and enslaved. Despite struggling in every way he can, he still can't regain his strength. The pain wears him down, and he begins to lose heart. Then, during a prisoner transfer, he meets an old man who reminds him of his grandfather. Encouraged and cared for by the man, Chad finds his resolve again and learns about this world. He also meets several companions he can trust. But during a rebellion, the old man sacrifices himself to protect them. The tragedy awakens Chad's former powers, making him even stronger: Ichigo's black-and-red flames from his Hollowfication, part of Orihime's rejection of phenomena, Oquila's swordsmanship and lightning techniques, and some of the powers of Hollows and Soul Reapers.
