A Performance of Love

1. Zou Du is six years older than me. No one knows how familiar his name is to me: Zou Du, a tune played for his wife, composed and dignified. It describes him perfectly. What a lovely name.

2. Look at him, flirting with a beauty while asking me when I'll be home, and yet I still haven't divorced him. Am I too spineless?

3. Zou Du practically got down on his knees and swore that if he had food, I'd have food too. Hey, I really was moved to tears back then.

4. I've kept track of every girl around him. I even remember all the women who have a crush on him. I did it so I could send them all invitations to our wedding. I like letting them see how happy I am. I went around toasting each of them and thanking them for taking such good care of my Zou Du for so long. Watching their forced smiles and their faces turn pale and then red made me very happy.
