The story begins on Christmas Eve in 2003. Outside a bar in New York, a wandering photographer happens to see a little girl who has been "cast out." One encounter may change both their lives. They spend nine years together, climbing their way up side by side, and eventually become father and daughter in name, and family in every way. Nine years later, the once-wandering photographer has become a world-famous international photographer, while the girl has become his personal stylist.
Nine years later, the girl, now a renowned makeup artist, returns to the land where she was born. Does it feel good or bad to be home? And why was she in a city that had nothing to do with her on that Christmas Eve nine years ago?
