Gundam: Eternal Radiance

The End of the A.D. Era

As oil resources run dry and environmental pollution grows increasingly severe, a storm of economic stagnation sweeps across the world. Countries impose exclusionary economic blockades on one another. As a result, the Earth is divided among several major powers. Meanwhile, ethnic and religious conflicts intensify, and the world is plunged into what is later called the R.C. War, or Reconstruction War: a series of major conflicts, including the Third World War, that drive national unification and reorganization. The global spread of the S-type influenza virus, compounded by the effects of war, causes the death ** to rise steadily.
