Tears of the Beauties of the Great Tang Era

The Great Tang at its height was prosperous and resplendent. I don't know how many women had their fates decided for them behind that glittering facade. How many never had the chance to find happiness before they were swept away and sacrificed amid the lavish excesses of princes and nobles…

The wheels of history never stop turning. How many beautiful dreams have they crushed? How many lovely faces have they ground away? If I could, I would piece those broken dreams back together. If I could, I would protect those flowerlike faces. I don't want to accuse history, because words are simply too powerless. I only want to write a requiem for the flowers that never had the chance to bloom. If I could, I would rewrite that sorrowful ending and continue a beautiful dream…

He Manzi: a name steeped in sorrow. Whenever I hold it on my tongue, it leaves a bitter taste. This lament for the prosperous Great Tang is a tribute to a soul as pure as a lily.
