Siheyuan: The Deputy Division Commander Retires from the Military, Leaving Everyone Stunned

After awakening memories from a later era at the age of twelve, Lin Anguo climbed over the wall and left home in the middle of the night to enlist. He fought his way from guerrilla communications officer to the Shangganling battlefield, earning outstanding honors by the age of twenty-seven as a deputy division commander.

After receiving his rank in 1955, his old wounds flared up. He transferred to civilian work and returned to Beijing, settling in Courtyard No. 95 on Nanluoguxiang. His elder brother Lin Zhongguo's family had to tread carefully in the courtyard, the three senior masters each had their own schemes, and Jia Zhangshi and her daughter-in-law were experts at throwing tantrums and throwing their weight around.

When the colonel's epaulettes came into view, everyone in the courtyard immediately dropped their schemes. Yi Zhonghai no longer dared to talk about moral coercion, and Jia Zhangshi's tantrums caught in her throat. He helped his elder brother's family gain a secure foothold and, with a soldier's spirit, began a new life of building the country in that fervent era.
