Storming the Banner

In the chaotic final years of the Ming dynasty, a new leader rises in the rebel camp. Outsiders all call him the Chuang King, Li Zicheng, but in truth, he is a stand-in for a special forces king!

His rallying cry, "Fight to improve the lives of the people," spreads throughout Guanzhong. Refugees flock to his side, and the rebel camp takes on a whole new look.

Deep in a remote mountain valley, he personally teaches master gunsmith Bi Maokang the arts of metallurgy, gunpowder, and fuses. Together, they secretly develop a new kind of heavy indirect-fire cannon. The project is top secret, and the heroes of the land know nothing about it.

Zhang Xianzhong, King of the Great West, arrogantly detains an envoy and takes Liu Fangliang hostage, challenging the rebel camp's bottom line.

The Southern Ming clings to its corner of the realm, Wu Sangui hoards his forces, and Dorgon plots to enter through the passes.

Distrusted by his old comrades and surrounded by powerful enemies, the stand-in Chuang King uses the detained envoy as a pretext to build his strength and send out his troops. Raising the rebel banner, he battles for dominion over the land and rewrites the ending of the Ming dynasty!
