The Sword of Sunset Glow: A Tragic Song of Southern Ming

The broken records recount the source of Liaodong's calamity; the setting sun casts its glow over the remnants of Southern Ming.

Xu Yan inherits the chivalrous spirit of his ancestors, Xu Jinglong and Tang Lian. Carrying the Sunset Sword down from the mountains, he witnesses the ruling elite of Jianzhou steadily devour the lands beyond the passes, exploiting the infighting within the Great Ming to claim the Central Plains. Yangzhou falls, the order to shave their heads is issued, and flames of war spread across Jiangnan.

The court is riven by endless infighting, treacherous generals defect, and countless patriots give their lives to hold back the iron hooves. Though they know the restoration of their country is hopeless, they still refuse to kneel.

In the final bloody battle at the mountain fortress, the sword breaks and its wielder dies.

The realm lies in ruins, but the chivalrous spirit endures. This is the final chapter of the Sunset Sword, a mournful song for the patriots of Southern Ming who resisted the Qing.
