Frontier Garrison Journal: The Path to Godhood Through Merit

Story Outline

World: The northern frontier barracks of the Kingdom of Qingyun, where its forces fight the enemy nation of the Skywolf Camp. The world follows a mortal martial arts body-tempering cultivation system, alongside the Merit System: helping others and performing righteous deeds earns merit points, which can be exchanged for pills, cultivation techniques, and intelligence on spells. Merit ranks progress from Basic Goodness to Intermediate Goodness. Advancing in rank triggers entanglements of cause and effect, concealing deeper secrets such as Heaven's Dao's deadly tribulation, the Netherworld Sect, the Ice Soul Fairy, and the nation's dragon veins.

Central conflict: On the surface, low-ranking scout Lin Feng uses the Merit System to oppose the corruption and treasonous dealings of Qian Wanguan and Qian Biao within the barracks. Beneath it lies the enormous web of cause and effect entangled with the path to godhood through merit, and the threat of a deadly calamity in the mortal world.
