Death Predictions on a Dead Man's Phone

My name is Chen Mo, and I repair phones.

Other people fix screens and replace batteries. I fix the things people don't want anyone to see.

That day, the police brought me the phone of someone who had fallen to their death and asked me to recover its data.

The phone was smashed beyond recognition, but I still managed to extract the data.

Then, in the hidden album, I found a photo.

It showed me standing by the window of an unfamiliar room.

The photo had been taken three days in the future.

On the back were four words: You're next.

Call the police? No one would believe me.

Run? Where could I go?

I could only do what I do best: find out who wanted to kill me using a dead person's phone.

But I never expected that this phone held more than a murder threat.

It held a murder plot that had been ongoing for sixteen years, and a secret I had never known.
