A Red Chamber Concubine's Son: The Snowbound Road to Liaodong

A modern soldier's soul transmigrates into Jia Qi, an inconspicuous son born to a concubine in the Rongguo Mansion.

He should have been swept along by the tides of life in the Grand View Garden, but his family treats him as a bargaining chip and sends him to Liaodong's bitterly cold frontier in someone else's place.

Factional strife rages at court, Later Jin's cavalry threaten western Liaoning, and the Ming defenses beyond the passes teeter on the brink of collapse.

While everyone else schemes and struggles in the capital, he stands atop Songshan with a blade in hand, ambushing and wiping out 25,000 Later Jin cavalrymen in a single battle that makes his name.

Xiong Tingbi and Sun Chengzong recognize his talent and, against all opposition, entrust him with a key stronghold beyond the passes.

He trains troops, opens up farmland, and gathers refugees, struggling to build a forward outpost in the narrow space between rival forces.

On one side are the ties of the Rongguo Mansion in the capital, with the three Chun sisters and Jia Cong thinking of him from afar;

On the other is a lonely, bitterly cold city in Liaodong, short on provisions and pay, surrounded by powerful enemies, with winter drawing near.

The young man rides out through the pass with his blade, indifferent to the Rongguo family's splendor and asking only to defend a piece of land.

While the sons of noble families lose themselves in pleasure, he cuts a path through wind and snow, forging a way for a son of a concubine to guard the frontier.
