The Soviet-German Alliance: I Insist They Go to War

"What is this you've written? Germany launches a blitzkrieg against Poland, takes Denmark in six hours, and forces France to surrender in a few weeks?

"After sweeping across Europe, Germany attacks the Soviet Union? A war lasting several years, ending with Hitler's suicide?"

The editor shook his head. "Web novels are supposed to be wish-fulfillment stories, sure, but you can't write something like this. It makes no sense."

Wu Meng knew that the Soviet Union and Germany had never fought each other. The two countries formed an alliance in 1939, so how could they go to war?

But he loved running simulations. It was just a pastime.

"What if I designed a super tank for the Soviet Union? One that would make the Germans stumble as soon as they invaded."

The forum exploded: "Make Germany, the country with the best tanks, stumble? What are you smoking?"

Wu Meng was undeterred. It was the 31st today, so he would call it the T-31, using the first letter of 'tank' and the date.

Then it occurred to him that since this was an alternate history, he might as well choose a designation that could never exist.

A month could not have 34 days, and a tank could not be called the T-34.

As he put pen to paper, in another distant timeline, the T-34 roared onto the battlefield.

The Führer was stunned. "How do the Russians have a weapon like this? Why have I never heard of it before?"
