Cold Winds, Chilly Moon

What is life?

Many years ago, someone asked me what a person was. I smiled awkwardly, then answered him with complete sincerity: I don't know.

Many years later, after experiencing so much, when faced with the same question, I gave a cold laugh and answered quietly: I don't know.

I know that those three words are the answer. It's somewhat ridiculous, somewhat helpless, but what else can I do? All I can manage is a faint smile and a soft voice.

Isn't "I don't know" simple? It is. We say it all the time. But have you ever considered that those three words can answer every question?

This isn't a joke. It's a sad fact.

A few days ago, I had a dream. When I woke, I felt a vague sadness, because I could only remember the gist of what had happened in it.

So often, all our lives leave us with are vague memories!
