I'm Livestreaming a Reality Show at the End of the World

In the third year of the apocalypse, my left eye suddenly gained the ability to see scrolling comments.

As the horde of corpses surged toward us, a line of golden text floated across my vision: The rotten corpse on the right is vulnerable at the back of its neck. My military knife plunged precisely into its ashen flesh, and even the arc of the splattering brain matter was just right.

The scavenger team hailed me as a god of war. Only I knew the truth: these eyes connected to an interdimensional livestream platform. Whenever my life was on the line, tens of thousands of "viewers" would send me spoilers. They argued as they guided me to scavenge supplies and avoid danger, letting me thrive in this wasteland.

Until the day the Corpse King burst from the earth. I followed the highlighted comments to the control panel, ready to activate the self-destruct sequence, when a scarlet warning covered my entire field of vision:

The world you live in is a reality show set.

The production crew is releasing a new mutant.

If you want to live, follow the signal and climb over here.

With my finger hovering over the red button, I chuckled at the empty air.

"How much is the appearance fee?"
