Eerie Apocalypse: Killing Ghosts Makes Me Stronger

His landlord had been dead for three days, but came knocking again in the middle of the night.

“Xiao Zhou, time to pay the rent.”

Zhou Ye glanced at his phone.

The landlord’s funeral portrait was still posted in the residents’ group chat.

The woman outside was smiling as she drew closer.

“You don’t have to open the door. You can pay the rent with your life.”

That night, Zhou Ye drove a knife through her heart.

Killed a Doorway Wraith. Experience +60.

Level up.

His old wounds stopped hurting. His hands stopped shaking.

The thing left outside the door suddenly didn’t seem so frightening anymore.

The blood moon rose, and the city lost power. The last bus carried only the dead. Hospitals began issuing death certificates to the living. Beneath the lights, supposedly absolutely safe, someone went missing every night.

Everyone else looked for somewhere to hide from the ghosts.

Zhou Ye picked up his knife and went looking for them.

After all, his mother and younger sister were still trapped in the hospital.

And the ghosts on this street...

Were just enough for him to gain two levels.
