Everyone in the Sect Knows the Future Except Me

Everyone in the Hanging Lantern Sect was reborn three hundred years in the past. The sect leader knew which barren mountain would yield an immortal mine. The senior brother knew who would become the Sword Emperor of the future. The elders knew where a secret realm hid an immortal artifact, and how the world would be destroyed three hundred years later. They all agreed: this life was in the bag.

Only Xu Jianchu, a newly admitted outer sect disciple, knew nothing. According to everyone’s memories, he was a nobody who would be knocked off a cliff by a rampaging spirit beast seven days later and vanish without a trace. On the seventh day, the whole sect secretly waited for the future to unfold on schedule.

But Xu Jianchu survived, and went and blundered into a secret realm that wasn’t supposed to appear for another three months. From then on, the future immortal herbs were eaten by pigs, the future Sword Emperor switched to alchemy, and the future Demon Emperor learned to chop vegetables in the sect kitchen. But everyone soon realized the future had not simply been rewritten: all the endings that had never come to pass were piling up on the other side of the world, forming an “Old World” that was waiting to claim its place in reality.
