Journey to the West: The Eighty-Second Ordeal

Five hundred years ago, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven was slain by the Buddhas. His soul shattered into eighty-one fragments, scattered along the Journey to the West. Mount Ling announced to the world that the Great Sage had attained Buddhahood, now seated upon a lotus throne and enjoying the incense offerings forever.

Five hundred years later, beneath Two Realms Mountain, an ordinary man who collects corpses was drenched in blood beside a withered bamboo grove.

From then on, heavenly fire consumed the town, and gods and Buddhas hunted him down. He didn't know who he was or what lay hidden in his chest. He was told only one thing:

You are the eighty-second fragment.

The Eighty-One Tribulations are over. The eighty-second has only just begun.

A mortal enters the game, and gods and Buddhas tremble. In this life, he doesn't seek Buddhahood; he wants only one answer: What did that monkey see five hundred years ago that made all the gods and Buddhas fabricate a lie to bury the truth forever?

One staff blow shatters ten thousand arts; a mortal body shakes the Heavenly Dao.
