The Primordial World: I Refuse the Exam, Nüwa Writes Me a Poem, and I Shatter the Investiture of the Gods With One Sword

Reborn as King Zhou of Shang, he opens his eyes and finds he’s on his way to inscribe a poem at the Temple of Nuwa.

If he does, he’ll burn himself to death at the Deer Terrace, triggering the calamity of the Investiture of the Gods and earning a place on the Investiture of the Gods as one of its names.

If he doesn’t, Nuwa will fly into a rage, and Heaven’s Will will destroy the Shang Dynasty at once.

The court officials kneel in a sea before him, while sacrificial prayers crackle as they burn throughout the hall.

Yilei takes up his brush and burns the prayers with a single stroke. “I won’t write that poem.”

The Sage wants me dead? Then I’ll live.

The Investiture of the Gods wants my name? Then I’ll shatter Heaven’s game board with a single sword.

From then on, Xiqi rebels, the lords fall into chaos, Yuxu Palace opens its eyes, and Zixiao Palace slams its fist down.

They all say Emperor Xin has gone mad.

But they don’t know that inside this Human Sovereign lies the toughest backbone in all of the Great Wilderness.

If Heaven tries to crush me, I’ll cleave it apart.

If Earth tries to block me, I’ll trample it to dust.
