Seventies Tech Prodigy: Starting on the Factory Floor

In 2026, Lu Chengye, founder of a domestic precision-equipment company, opens his eyes and finds himself a lowly apprentice at the Hongxing Machinery Factory in 1970.

No System, no pocket dimension, just a mind carrying thirty years of industrial know-how.

While others reach out for production quotas, he reaches out to overhaul equipment. First, he brings a scrapped old lathe back to life and uses it to machine the factory's only precision component that meets specifications.

Workshop director: What country's standards did you use for this tolerance?

Workshop director: Even the ministry wouldn't dare take on this job. How could an apprentice like you draw up the plans?

Three years later, China's first precision coordinate boring machine is built using this old equipment.

Ten years later, the world sees a complete integrated-circuit production line in the East for the first time.

Foreign expert: Impossible! How could you have blueprints like these in the 1970s?

Lu Chengye: The blueprints are from the 1970s, but I brought my knowledge back with me.
