A Handbook for Saving the Universe and Yourself

This is no orthodox interstellar guide to saving the world, and certainly not a survival manual issued by the Galactic authorities. It's just a strange folk book that can be found at a street stall for ten yuan per jin. Its author, Chu Hang, is an alien drifter hiding on Earth and blending into human society.

The Cosmic Municipal Bureau could launch an interstellar demolition project at any moment. Planetary erasure, star-lane blockades, and interstellar wanted notices are all everyday occurrences. The book is full of ridiculous yet practical trivia: how to board an evacuation ship in a hurry when your planet is slated for demolition; ways to flee if you're wanted by the Galactic Patrol; pitfalls to avoid when communicating with alien races; and how to tell a reliable spaceship from a stolen one during an interstellar escape. It even contains plenty of snarky advice, warning readers not to make friends with alien "life-savers" at the drop of a hat. Saving someone isn't necessarily a good deed; one careless move and you could go from an overworked Earth office drone to an interstellar fugitive.

After the sudden destruction of Earth, overworked programmer Liang Wuwei accidentally comes into possession of this book. Following its author, he embarks on a chaotic interstellar adventure, fleeing from one disaster to the next while taking the blame at every turn. The manual is full of absurd survival rules, but when real danger arrives, every word on the page comes true.

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance is purely coincidental. Do not imitate.
